BMW Hits RETTmobil 2018 With Six Slick Emergency Vehicles
There are vehicles in both two- and four-wheel flavors.
Khodrocar - RETTMobil is a leading exhibition of emergency vehicles in Europe. It’s where innovations in emergency response, security, fire services, physician mobility, and police are on display for potential clients in the market to upgrade their aging equipment. BMW has been a staple at the show for years, and 2018 is no different. This year, the German automaker is bringing no less than six vehicles on both two and four wheels to the event to showcase its newest models and how they could transform into emergency vehicles.
The new BMW X3 designed as a fire service command vehicle leads the automaker’s display. One neat feature is the added flashers in the bottom of the tailgate. That’s designed to increase visibility when the tailgate is opened. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel producing 190 horsepower. Another X3 will also be on display, but this one is designed to transport an emergency physician to a scene.
Also aiding an emergency physician is a BMW 220d xDrive Grand Tourer, which is useful for is spaciousness thanks to a longitudinally adjusted rear seat and its large doors. It too has a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel producing 190 hp. A BMW X1 is for operations management designed as a vehicle for such needs as fire services or other emergencies.
A BMW of the two-wheel variety is also in attendance – the F 750 GS, which is coming off the reveal of a newly developed generation. The motorcycle, designed with off-road capabilities, features several bits of emergency equipment that includes LED flashing beacons, emergency service foiling, and an LED rotating beacon.
The last BMW hitting RETTmobil 2018 isn’t a BMW – it’s a Mini John Cooper Works police car. Police all over Germany already use Mini as patrol vehicles due to its various model sizes and configurations.
It’s fun to see BMWs – or any vehicles for that matter – put to use for the better of the public. RETTmobil is the perfect place to see those neat transformations.
